- Maitland Trail Sept 27/ 28: If you are interested in participating in a 2 day hike in south western Ontario, visit this website. www.maitlandtrail.ca This event is called El Camino de Sinuoso Rio Maitland and is organized by the Maitland Hiking Club near Goderich.
- AGM for the Voyageur Trail Association will be in Marathon Oct 18. For further information contact Carole Blaqiere at caroleblaquiere@yahoo.ca as soon as possible.
- Spine Rd Cross Country Ski Trail Clearing ( 3rd week of Oct.) The Elliot Lake Cross Country Ski Club is asking for volunteers to help clear the Spine Road Ski Trail. Please contact George or Emily if you would like to help. frew@eastlink.ca . There is no definite date yet for this, but it will be after the leaves are off the trees.
- Hwy 108 Clean Up ( Early Oct) If you wish to help with this please contact George ghoo@sympatico.ca .
- Signs for Trails and Memorial Plaques for Alan Day. Jim Maclean has been in contact with Laird Signs in Ironbridge to make signs for local trails. These are the trails that are mentioned in the Explore Elliot Lake Trail Guide. Jim has also arranged for a sign at the Trans Canada Trail Pavillon for Alan Day and a sign in the Civic Centre honoring both Diana and Alan Day . More information to follow.
- Hike Leaders’ Meeting Sept 9 at 2:30 pm at the Clubhouse. We will schedule hikes from October until the end of January. We hope to see you there.
