WELCOME

OLD BUSINESS: 
  • Charitable donation: Card from Special Olympics 
  • Still need ideas for Trail Signs (not on mine property) 
  • Lumberjack Days at Mississagi - Jim:- 
  • Junior Rangers Trail Clearing - Ron- 
  • Pizza night – Sheila-

Reminders: 
  • Snowshoes Please return any snowshoes that have been signed out so they can be inspected / repaired for the upcoming season; This will ensure that they will be available for new member to try before buying their own 
  • IT'S HUNTING SEASON !! wear something that doesn’t look like a deer, moose, duck, bunny…
  • Inform the hike leader or sweep if you have to leave the trail for ANY reason 
  • If on mine property, the emergency # to get a gate unlocked is: 1-705-461-0466
  • Sweep's name on sign-up sheets (don’t forget to log trail clearing requirements) 
  • Membership dues to be paid directly to the Soo. Notify Donna so she can update list
  • New Members to notify Donna; (so she can put you on members list right away)
  • Paddle outings: If on the Blog, make sure it says “NOT a VTA sanctioned event”
  • Use the new sign-up sheets (please destroy the old ones). Pass completed ones to Jim (for stats). Will give to Donna to forward to VTA;  
NEW BUSINESS 

  • We will be hosting the VTA AGM on Oct 17.  We will need volunteers to help organize; Signup sheet 
  • Change the hours for winter hike. Discuss 
  • Cross country ski trails; Chuck 
  • Need volunteers for the highway cleanup and “treasure in the trash” OCT 21st; signup sheet;
  • Combined Paddle / hike with Algoma Paddlers. October 3 Need volunteers to babysit the food for the pot luck; 
  • We needed to replace Gerry’s Kitchen Tent for our Site in Mississagi Park; Thanks to Emily for the replacement; 
  • Think about a new executive for the November meeting and elections; 
  • Shared Use Trails Committee: Jim and Ron; 
  • We need volunteers to help Sheila organize the Christmas Party (December 3 2015 at the Moose);
 Club Activities 2015

Together, our members have hiked and snowshoed 5298 Kms;
Our 71 years and over members have hiked and snowshoed 1760 Kms;
Our 61 - 70 years members have hiked and snowshoed 2548 Kms;
Our 41 - 60 years members have hiked and snowshoed 943.3 Kms; and
Our 19 - 40 years members have hiked and snowshoed 47 Kms;

VOLUNTEER HOURS:
Our members have put in 444.8 volunteer hours in the community so far this year (not counting Park Ambassadors)
Winterfest: 108 hrs.
Trail Clearing: 184.8 hrs.
Highway Cleanup: 12 hrs.
Lumberjack Days: 140 Hrs
Total: 444.8 hrs.
