South Trail to Banana Lake.

Our 20 hikers picked a beautiful clear day for an exploratory hike to Banana Lake via the south trail. This is reached by walking south on the ATV trail from Dunlop Shores Rd. for about 1.5km. The trail then heads in a westerly direction through an area of mixed hardwoods and coniferous trees, to the south shore of Banana Lake. It is a fairly easy hike with no steep ascents and a few boggy areas that are easily avoided. The trail was in quite good shape considering it has not been used or cleared for some time. The view of the lake is very pretty, with access across the ice to trails on the north side. Thx to Scott for these pics.

The trail is a stream bed in places

A few blowdowns need to be cut out

Gotta go, gotta go!

Did we disturb this "busy" guy?

No, no tea, no cookies, go away!

Someone left their art work. Didn't think much of it apparently!
