***** Message from Debbie Berthelot re: Serpent River *****

Dear All,

Rio Algom Limited is planning to conduct a dye test at our Quirke effluent treatment facility the week of 8 thru 12 September.  The purpose of the dye test is to determine the retention time in our Quirke Settling Ponds during low flow conditions following maintenance completed on Dam D in the Fall of 2013.  The dye being used is non-toxic but may cause a red discolouration in the Serpent River downstream of the Quirke treatment system during this testing period.  The dye testing is being conducted by Calder Engineering with the support of Denison Environmental Services.

As key stakeholders we wanted to inform you prior to commencing this important test work and request your support in directing any public inquiries to me at 705 848 0111.

Thanking you in advance for your cooperation.

Kind regards,

Debbie Berthelot
