Strong winds did not deter sixteen paddlers from tackling Semiwite Lake with the big canoe and four kayaks. Paddling around the lake they made their way to the portage where they met up with a small group of Helenbar Trail hikers, led by Astrid T. for lunch. After lunch the paddling group trekked to the Helenbar lookout and back while the hiking group completed the loop by continuing along the Semiwite trail. Paddling back into the wind proved to be a doable challenge, and paddlers and hikers alike swapped adventure stories over a delicious pot luck supper at the clubhouse. PHOTOS
