16 members and 1 guest took the challenge to climb Campground Rock from the Panel Mine site last Sat. 16th. September. It promised to be a clear, but humid day and that was sure the truth! The first part of the hike was a gentle stroll around the peninsula, just to warm everyone's muscles up, prior to tackling the steep slope to the summit. We probably drank most of our water on that section!

All went well and we made it to the top and the start of beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.
Stopped for lunch at the overlook to the campground and then tackled the just-as-steep descent to the beach. This proved more challenging than the climb for some, but all made it down safely. PHOTOS
