General Meeting September 19, 2017

Members present – 38

Prior to meeting we had an annual pizza nite for members to attend

Minutes of the previous meeting of May 16, 2017 accepted by Nicki J and seconded by Jackie S

Vice-Presidents Report

George stated that there were no Youth Rangers to help with trails this year and it may not function again

Trail-Masters Report

Ron stated that both the Helenbar and Semiwhite trails in Mississagi Park have been cleared
Phil B opened up what he calls “ Canada 150 trail” for us
Marty donated use of his ATV to assist in clearing all Spine trails
Still in need of clearing are Banana Lake trail and Snowshoe trail-masters

Secretary-Treasurers Report

Donna reported all incoming and outgoing transactions and bank balances since the last meeting of May 16, 2017

As of last updated membership list our membership stands at about 95

Motion was made to approve report by Darla M and seconded by Gerry R

Old/Ongoing Business

Now that hunting season is upon us wear orange when hiking if possible

The club trailer has been sold at last.......right from a members front yard

The two day Hike Leader course on September 23 and 24 has resulted in 5 new hike leaders: Connie, Jackie, Laura, Doug and Rod

Gerry J will be teaching another Hike Leaders course on September 23 and 24

ALL hike leaders should ensure that all hikers have appropriate footwear, clothing, sufficient water and food and also let leader be aware of any possible medical conditions

There was very poor participation this year for Mississagi Park ambassadors so it has been recommended that we not participate with this program next year
Motion not to participate was made by Chuck Z and seconded by Pam E

Canada Day hikes had a poor turnout of hikers so it is recommended that if we proceed with this next year we schedule it either the Saturday before or the Saturday after the long weekend

Mississagi Park Lumberjack Days had a fantastic turnout and many thanks to the volunteers who came out to help

Highway cleanup is scheduled for October 4, 2017

Sheila H spoke to us about the upcoming Christmas Party

Astrid reminded us that club elections will be in November

Our next general meeting will be November 21, 2017 at the clubhouse at 7 pm

Our next hike leaders meeting will be November 28, 2017 at the clubhouse 2:30 pm

Meeting was adjourned at 7:40 pm
