This #MayLongWeekend, the #VoyageurTrailAssociation reminds all #VTATraiUsers and #VTAMembers to #BeSafeBeSeen during the #SpringBearHunting Season which runs May 1st through June 15th 2021.
1. Know when hunting season is taking place.
2. Know where hunting is taking place by checking with local authorities.
3. Avoid hiking during dawn and dusk and anytime visibility is limited.
4. Wear #BlazeOrange and avoid clothing that blends in like beige, brown, white and green.
5. Keep your pet on a leash and ensure they have a #HighVis jacket, bandanna or collar.
6. Stick to established trails.
7. Hike with a buddy, and always let someone know where you are going and when you expect to be back.
