You can call us the 3 Wise Men, traveling far & wide, on snowshoes, instead of camels, bearing gifts for Baby Jesus. Jean - Guy lead Steve & myself to The Manger in The Woods, (Which is actually a squatter's hut, on the boundary of Sheriff Creek Sanctuary & in behind the Westview Trailer Park woods.) we saw across Horne Lake the Town of Bethlehem (Elliot Lake) We had a perfect day for snowshoeing through the woods, having lunch over- looking The marsh in Sheriff Creek Sanctuary. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to all!

Christmas Light Tour

Thx to Pim for these pics and comments.

Nineteen people got into the Christmas spirit on Monday, December 14 and set off from Gerry and Nickie's place for a walking Christmas light tour through the Mississauga and Westhill neighbourhoods. We saw outstanding light displays on Axmith Street, Hillside Drive, Bracken Place and Denison Street before culminating with a Christmas party at Gerry and Nickie's place for games, singing and refreshments.

Dec. 19 Westner Lake

Thx to Pim for these pics and comments.

December 19 to Westner Lake The following is the outing report for this snowshoe outing:
Steve led six snowshoers to Westner Lake Saturday, December 19 and then along the Paul Echle Trail past the ski hill. There was some nice winter scenery at the lake and along the trail. We made it across the dam with dry feet across the wet spot, had lunch further up the trail and then went past the ski trail to Timmie's for some hot java and donuts.

Thx to "New" John for the pics and comments below

Tuesday Dec. 15, 09 Hike to Rooster Rock

Twenty two hikers showed up on an overcast cold morning for Steve's hike to Rooster Rock. There was lots of snow and a stiff breeze blowing across Quirke Lake from the north west but conditions improved as we turned south out of the wind.
