***General Meeting Reminder***

This is a reminder about our upcoming General Meeting on Tuesday, Sept 18, 2018. All members are invited to attend. We have an amazing guest speaker, author Paton Lodge Lindsay, that will be talking about true stories covered in her books including award winning King of Algonquin Park. Meeting time is 7pm starting with our guest speaker.

About the Speaker ( Paton Lodge Lindsay) –
The story in her booked titled King of Algonquin Park is based on actual happenings in the life of “Trapper” as he personally related them to the author. Much of the story takes place in a location north of Elliot Lake, Wakami Lake Provincial Park. We learn a lot about beavers and conservation, wilderness living, voyageurs, logging, and “Coureurs de Bois”. Her main character had a real understanding of life and what is important and Paton shares this wisdom in her books.
“King of Algonquin Park” was actually one of five books short-listed with Margaret Atwood for the Louise de Kiriline Lawrence literary award. Her second book “The King’s Ransom” is equally as popular.
Looking forward to seeing you there!

Directions: Meeting location is north of Elliot Lake beyond “tv hill” at the Snowbirds Snowmobile Club clubhouse, located at #700 Highway 108. After you've turned left off the highway, keep to the right. You'll pass the Rod and Gun club on the right. The clubhouse is straight ahead. It's the building with the brand spanking new wheelchair ramp.
