Five eager hikers, joined Sirje for a hike in the Millliken Mine Road area and, after a minor adjustment in plans, had a delightful time along the "Winterberry trail". A few patches of snow and ice remained to make it a bit of an adventure but we managed beautifully! There were creative moments thanks to Julia and the cooperation of all - see thebackpacker's tree photo!; moments of discovery - trees transformed with significant fungi and lots of plump winterberries; wildfife sightings - not one but TWO partiridge sightings; a geocache discovery thanks to Walter's keen eyes; and a great chance to welcome Jane, a Monday hiker eager to try out the Tuesday hike. Despite the lack of sunshine, it was a gloriously perfect day!
