Thursday’s hike will be to Sherriff Lake from Milliken Mine/Fire Tower Road. BUT, instead of taking the usual route around the mountain, we will climb over the top via a steep trail (think Lungbuster). Those up to the challenge will be rewarded with great views from the summit, plus a delicious snack of ripe blueberries which are growing profusely at that spot. We will descend the other side of the mountain, which will involve some moderate bushwacking, then continue on to Sherriff Lake.
Sturdy hiking shoes or (preferably) boots are an absolute must, long pants are strongly recommended. Bring plenty of water and a pair of binoculars if you have them.
