Christmas parade, Friday 24 Dec.

Coureurs De Bois float

About 20 of us turned out for the parade through downtown Elliot Lake on Friday evening. There were a record number of floats, 40 at least, and lots of lights and a big crowd out due to the warmer than usual weather. We gave away tons of candy and the pace was fast this year. We had to run to catch up on occasion! The parade ended up at Collins Hall and the sea cadets from SSM & Sudbury played a few tunes. They are quite good. Free hot chocolate and hot dogs and the prize awards for best floats etc. announced by Mayor G. Farkouh. Probably his last official function before the hand over. We did not win anything this year.
