Hikers responsibilities

As discussed at the General Meeting June 17th.

HIKERS PROTOCOL

1.In the event of an injury that prohibits the hiker from normally continuing with the hike, the injured person will be returned to the vehicles via the least strenuous route. The hike leader is so obligated.The hike leader will consult with the rest of the group as to the best way out and who is to accompany the injured person. The injured hiker is obligated to comply with this procedure. At no time will an injured person return to the vehicles without the accompaniment of at least two other competent hikers.

2. The hike leader is in charge, thus it is imperative that hikers inform the leader regarding possible problems that may keep the hiker from completing the hike.

3. No hiker will leave the group without advising the hike leader.

4. Any pets accompanying the hiker must be on a leash

5. a.. MNR regulations prohibit people from smoking while mobile in the bush.

b. In consideration of other hikers, smokers (when smoking) are requested to stay well down wind from the rest of the group.
