Mt Victoria

Liz and I hiked Mt Victoria today and the trail is in good condition, needing only a few markers. We would like to take a group to the mountain in the near future. If you have not taken this hike, it is very rewarding, 360 degree vistas of the surrounding country and a spectacular climb to boot. It is rated intermediate due to the climb....but...if you are usually an "easy" hiker and don't mind climbing, if you take your time, it is well worth it. We saw a grouse today and ate many blueberries that are already ripened in the hot sun by the rocky areas. Lunch at the top whilst looking across at Manitoulin Island was great. The round trip is about 100km. and the road in is in good condition.

If you are interested in doing this hike on an off-schedule day, i.e: Sun,Mon,Weds,Fri, call Liz or Phill at 8.8767 or e mail philliz22@hotmail.com. We will arrange it if enough interest is forthcoming.
