Thx to "New John" for the pics. See his comments below. This trail goes west from Hwy 108, just north of the McCarthy Lake Road and was a logging area about 5 years ago.

Perfect day for a hike and I enjoyed hiking a new area, new to me anyway. It's nice to see all the snowbirds back safe and sound.
