Bolger & Reception Lake.

This picture is actually at the end of the hike, coming down to the road near Snafu Lake. It was a hot, strenuous hike with quite a few steep ascents and rocky areas. Great views across the White River valley. Lots of bugs, black fly and mosquito predominantly at the lower levels. The wild flowers seen - lots of lady slipper, star flowers, gay wing, pale corealis, violets, Canada mayflower, wild rose, and others. Thx Scott, for the pics and comments below.

Hey! Wait a minute, if this is Freds truck who's driving? A lift back to the parking area.

At the start, the steep climb up to Bolger Lake

Beautiful Bolger Lake

Where the h... are we?

A welcome rest stop

Snafu Lake (or is it Snapoo?)

It was a refreshing dip for these two.

Ooops! Lost me knickers!

Water, water!

Bolger Lake Hike.
Thu, 18 Jun 2009

Fred lead a hike of 13 (unlucky for some, great for us!) to Bolger Lake, Reception Lake, & he thinks we ended the hike at Snapoo or Snafu Lake. We started at 11:00am and finished at 3:30pm. The trail was located about 8km to the south on highway 546. It was a hot day, very buggy, lots of wild flowers, and a well deserved rest and swim, for some, at the end. We all loaded in Fred's truck for the drive back to the parking area.
