Rest stop above Lacnor. Pics from Pim, thx. See his comments below.
Lunch at the ruins. (Not the guys, the chimney!)
Twenty-three adventurous souls set off on a nice day - finally- for a hike to Sheriff Lake on Tuesday, November 3. Heavy rain the last few days resulted in a high water table that has left area bush roads and trails wet. Our hike took us from Lacnor Mine along a bush road down to Sheriff Lake, stopping twice along the way to take pictures at a lookout and at the lake. In making a roundabout way past the outlet of Sheriff Lake, we splashed our way across a flooded road to the opposite end of the lake where we had lunch, some of us settling in beside a fireplace left from a dismantled fishing lodge, the rest of us picking a dam impressive spot (no pun intended) by the lake. Our return hike had us splashing across flooded roadways to Milliken Mine, passing a raven's nest on a cliff before we emerged with some wet feet and some dry feet back in town.
