Snowshoe Hike to Nancy-Joe's Cottage.
Sat, 20 Feb 2010
Nancy-Joe, Barry & Blitz & with the help of Grant, in town, lead a snowshoe hike, with 24 Hikers, to their cottage across Dunlop Lake. Before we reached the otherside, Barry took a group of 16 Hikers on an intermediate Hike to Ten Mile Lake, while Nancy-Joe took the other hikers to the cottage for some R.& R. Barry lead us up through some woods, cross a marsh, then to the shore of Ten Mile Lake. We then crossed the lake to a portage connecting Ten Mile Lake to Dunlop Lake near their cottage for lunch with the other group. Along the hike we talked ice fishermen, 1 of them caught a lake trout. We saw the Salt & Pepper Islands in 10 Mile Lake. Lunch was great homemade soup, wine & cheese, buns, meats and a fruit platter. For dessert, brownies, 2 different gooey cakes, chocolate cookies & the apple pie Grant requested. All was well enjoyed by the Coureurs De Bois hikers.
