Saturday March 13, 2010 hike to upper Rochester Creek Falls
Well I think you turned back at just the right time today. The rest of the road into the falls was snow covered. The only saving grace was that an ATV had been in recently so we had a track to follow, although it was fairly narrow. The falls were a bit disappointing due to the lack of water. It looked more like the volume of water at the end of summer than the spring runoff we were expecting. Most of the 22 hikers removed jackets and hats for the trek back in 16 C temps under a brilliant blue sky. A warm welcome to new hiker Paula.
