VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

We have 2 events coming up during Winterfest, 26; 27 Feb., that will require volunteers to make them successful events.

1. The Fishing Derby is to be held on Saturday, 26th. Feb. on Horne Lake. This popular event draws 100's of enthusiastic fishers going after the big prize for the biggest fish.
We have been asked by the organisers if we would like to be the patrol people on the lake while the event is underway, between 11am - 3.30pm. If possible we would like to have enough volunteers to split this into 2 shifts.
We would not be police, but will ensure people get help if required and will inform the security personnel of matters that they should be handling. We will be equipped with radio's for this purpose.
In return for our help, the organisation will give a donation to the Coureurs de Bois.

2. We will be running Family Snowshoe hikes on Sunday, 27th. Feb. at 11am and 2pm. from the ATV Clubhouse at the Ski Hill parking lot.
The hikes will be from the Ski Hill parking lot to Horne Lake Island and return.
We will offer healthy snacks and hot chocolate at the island and the participants will be given a metal reuseable water bottle on completion of the hike.
We will loan snowshoes to those needing them, and will be giving short talks on points of interest enroute.
The City of Elliot Lake is helping with exposure this year and a press release has appeared in The Standard today (Feb. 10) headed "New Project To Encourage Physical Activity".
IT SHOULD BE FUN BUT.......
WE NEED YOUR HELP WITH BOTH THESE EVENTS. PLEASE CALL PHILL AT 705 8488767 OR GERRY AT 705 4616304 TO VOLUNTEER.
