13 hikers joined Ingrid and Chuck on leisure hike on the TAMARACK TRAIL. We trekked through an area that has been logged over some 15 yrs. ago and noted that many of the large eastern white pine have been left standing to act as nurse trees. The highlight of the hike was the rest spot at the shore of Belle Lake where we enjoyed the scenery and especially the cool breezes coming off the lake. This was a thoroughly enjoyable hike with one hill thrown in for good measure. We found an interesting centipede or caterpillar (editor's note; I believe this is going to be a luna moth) and an unidentified yellow flower. This trail, we realized would be excellent for a snowshoe hike in the winter.
