Ryan Lake Maintenance Trail Closure Update

We received the following from Deb Berthelot;

Rio Algom has completed haulage from the Stanleigh quarry to the Ryan Lake outlet structure and closure of the sites to pedestrian traffic has been lifted.  We appreciate your cooperation during this maintenance activity and wish to take this opportunity to remind you that persons entering onto the former mine sites do so at their own risk.  The sites are rugged with boulders, protruding objects, washouts, depressions and slippery, steep sections that may be obscured by foliage.  Anyone entering onto the property is advised to exercise caution and to restrict their travel to sections of the property that can be safely negotiated taking into account their own individual fitness and the hiking gear and equipment they are using.

The section of the Voyageur Trail accessing and crossing the Ryan Lake outlet remains will remained closed during construction of the Ryan Lake outlet structure.  We expect construction to be complete by September 14, 2012 and will send notification once construction is complete and the trail is opened.

Please share this update with members of your respective organizations and express our appreciation of their continued cooperation.
