Marty and Astrid led a group of 14 hikers along the Jack Rabbit trails today. Parking at the gate on Firetower Road, we followed the road about 500m, then headed into the bush. We followed the Hydro cut, headed back into the bush and looped back to the road. Crossing the road, we made our way to a small pond where we had lunch before returning back to the cars via Hell's Gate. Our timing was perfect; it didn't start to rain until we returned to the cars. This is more than can be said for the seating arrangements at lunch; Steve and Grant ended up on their butts and Gerry J and Nickie shared an embrace courtesy of a fatigued birch log (see pics).
