Leisure Hike, Blue Trail, Jan 7

Commentary and photos by Donna C.
Jean-Guy led 13 of us on a brisk windy day for a snowshoe hike behind the transmission lines (across from Westview Park), out to meet the blue trail that goes to Sherriff Creek Sanctuary.  We made out way through some large cedar growths, and turned around about half way across the blue trail.  We had lunch along the shore of a swamp before going to our cars.  Everyone enjoyed the relaxed pace and it was the first time snowshoeing for one of the new members.  When we got back to the car area the wind made a drastic change in direction and I  am sure I felt a "chinook" wind; it was getting mild very quickly.  CLICK HERE for photos
