Leisure Hike, Dunlop Shores, March 25

Commentary and photos by Allan R.
This morning Donna led 7 eager members on a leisurely snowshoe hike along the snowmobile trail off Dunlop Shores Rd. We walked in about 45 minutes, had lunch and then out. Snow was well packed but just starting to get sticky as the temperatures rose. One interesting natural observation: two tunnels dug by beavers from under the pond ice up to the roadside. The beavers have been busy cutting down young trees and taking the tender small branches back down the tunnels to their lodge which can be seen covered in snow some distance out in the pond.  CLICK HERE for photos.
