Al and Charlotte led 8 members on a leisurely walk from the gate on Milliken Mine Rd. into Dumbell Lake and then on to Westner or Spillane Lake (depending on which map you look at). On the descent to Westner Lake the group in the lead witnessed a large male bear in full gallop across the roadway, within 50 feet of them. Sadly, no photo record of that encounter. PHOTOS
