Jean Guy lead a small group of 6 hikers on an exploratory hike to see if we could find a way to the top of Cougar Mountain. This rock ridge is 8km west of hwy #639 on the Little White River Rd. After bushwhacking to the base of the hill it became clear that it was going to be an extreme challenge to find a way up. Once we cleared the treeline it was a boulder strewn landscape all the way to the top, and the higher we climbed the steeper and more challenging it became. Two members pushed on to the summit but we were quite a distance west of our planned destination. It was an awesome outing but not for the faint of heart. PHOTOS
