Commentary by Donna C.
In the absence of a designated hike leader, six hikers decided amongst themselves to do a day of exploring, not hiking. Donna, Shirley, Diane, Val, Paavo, and George walked into the Christie Lake Road ( road to Marshland Lake), only to be turned back by VERY high water levels across the road approximately half way to Christie Lake. We tried to make our way through the bush around some places, but at one point could go no further on foot. Then we took a trail southward off this road (wanted to get to Walkaround Lake), but had lunch along the trail and returned to our cars. We saw one partridge along the way. Good company and good conversation made it a fun day.
