On a balmy December 22nd, seventeen hikers gathered on the beach off Panel Mine Road for a Christmas cookout. We enjoyed sausages, wraps, soup, fortified hot chocolate and more. We swapped stories and told jokes, enjoying our surroundings and each others company. Many thanks to lumberjacks Marty T, Ron T, John V, Jim M and Grant M!

With the lack of snow so far - only a light dusting - the Coureur de Bois Hiking Club decided to do something different for Christmas. Sixteen people headed to the end of the Panel Mine Road, parked at the gate and walked in a kilometer to a beach on the north side of Quirke Lake for a Christmas cookout party. Everyone brought hotdogs, sausages and other entrees to cook over the campfire as well as goodies to share amongst the group. With the current conditions, we celebrated Christmas on the beach. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all.
