T opened the meeting at 7 pm, welcoming all
Minutes
of the previous meeting of May 17, 2016 was accepted by Gerry R and
seconded by Nickie J
Presidents Report
Many
thanks go out to those who helped with the Mississagi Park this
summer
The two
hikes our club led for Canada Day had a good turnout
Lumberjack
Days also had a good turnout
We will
discuss next spring any plans for park ambassadors in the Park
Our
Lake Superior hike led by Jean Guy L was once again a great hike
Priority
of trails needing attention was discussed by Astrid T and Ron T at
Shared Use of Trails Mtg
We
still have not received our stipend from the City
Marty
T, John V and Gerry R attended the chainsaw certification course
Vice Presidents Report
Our
paddle/hike day is scheduled for September 24 and signup sheets are
available. At least 12 will be needed for it to be a “ go”
A
future site for the Algoma Paddlers update will be the end of October
Trail Master Report
Ron
thanked all those who helped clean along with the youth rangers the
Semi-White and Helenbar trails in the Park.
Other
trails included the Blue trail/Westview; Golf course ridge; snowshoe
trail; porridge lake trail; high rocks trail.
We are
awaiting permission to clear the Cobre trail next year along with the
help of the youth rangers
Thanks
to Emily W for the donation of new loppers for trail clearing
Plans
are in store for a sign erected at the corner of Hwy 17 and Hwy 108
showing maps of trails
We all
thanked Ron T for his diligence in looking after our trails

Report
Donna
reported all incoming and outgoing transactions and bank balance
since the last meeting of
May
17, 2016
Our
membership is presently about 95 membership
Motion
to approve the report by Emily W and seconded by Gerry J
Old Business
Hunting
season will soon be upon us. Make sure we make ourselves visible
when on the trails
New Business
A
motion to sell the club trailer was moved by Chuck Z and seconded by
Jean Guy L; all in favor
Gerry R
will assist in the sale of the trailer
We are
in need of new hike leaders. Gerry J is willing to do another hike
leaders course if anyone is interested in becoming one. Talk to
Gerry J or someone on the executive
Volunteers
are needed to help Sheila h with the Christmas Party being held
December 8
Many
thanks to Ron T's sister for the one pair of youth snowshoes for our
club
Gerry J
asked for a motion to be made to have a MEMBER ONLY sign out any
snowshoes from the club and was moved by Gerry J and seconded by
Shelley M; all were in favor
Advertisement
in The Standard for our clubs hikes will continue per Gerry R
Upcoming Events
The
next Hike Leaders Meeting will be held on October 2 at 2:30 at the
clubhouse
The
next General Meeting will be held on November 15 at 7 pm at the
clubhouse
