Commentary and photos by Astrid
We hiked up, we hiked down, we scrambled and slithered, we boulder hopped and crossed bridges as 21 hikers led by Marty and Astrid explored the VTA from the Firetower lookout to Nordic Mine Road. We covered a distance of about 9 kms over some fairly rugged terrain, made even more so by the wet covering of fallen leaves on the trail. But oh so spectacular!! The brilliant yellows of autumn remain, and the view from the lookouts along the trail did not disappoint. Newcomers and veterans alike all agreed it was an oh so enjoyable outing. Thanks for coming out everyone!! PHOTOS
