QUIRKE ONE 2020 02 25

David obtained permission for a hike at the Quirke 1 mine site today. 14  started out but knees took care of two...  We crossed the swamp on the skidoo tracks and followed the road around to the north end of the "snowshoe trail"   We took the west branch down to the "Y" and back up the east branch to return to our original trail...  bushwacking around a few downed trees... David then led us to the Serpent River and from there across the old Rio Algom town site and back to the road and hence the parking lot... a large figure eight... Sunny weather, and it did warm substantially over the 3 hours... while looking up to scout the easiest approach our fearless leader fell on his face badly injuring his pride...
