CROTCH LAKE 2020 03 12

Ten  hikers left our snowshoes in the vehicles and walked Stanleigh Mine Rd to Crotch Lake. The icy road was covered in places with enough snow to show wolf , snowshoe hare, and grouse tracks. There were no  glitches , just a few slips and slides and a small tear in a pair of pants from climbing over a wire fence.
We met a few people walking their dogs.
Lunch was near Crotch Lake. We shortened this hike due to icy conditions. The original plan was to go to   McCabe Lake. We had been to another part of that same  lake on last Thursday's hike. Perhaps another time!
We were so proud of ourselves when we found an easier way to climb over the fence at the locked gate. Our self satisfied smiles changed when a Denison Environmental truck drove up and unlocked the gate!
We laughed and so did the driver!
