Seven hikers completed a trail loop along the north shore of Angel and Crystal Lakes. It was a nice forest hike involving only minor scrambles and offering many lakeside views. We stopped for lunch at a scenic spot overlooking Angel Lake, and enjoyed the sunshine and birdsong suggesting that spring was finally on its way. At one point a lively debate ensued concerning the origin of the song about a certain cat that kept coming back to its owner despite his best efforts to make it stay away. Afterwards one group member had the said song running through his head for hours.
