Six of us completed an easterly loop around Angel and Crystal Lakes, starting at the Canmet snow dump. The day was picture perfect and during the first part of the hike we were treated to some lovely, serene views of Angel Lake. The second part involved hiking along the ATV road through the forest, accompanied by the sounds of birdsong and babbling brook. We passed a number of marshes and ponds along the way. The road was up and down and rocky, with not a single ATV to be seen despite it being Saturday! A great springtime hike enjoyed by all.
At several times the conversation turned to snakes that one of the hikers in the group is not too fond of. And when I got home I found a snake in the trunk of my car hidden under my backpack. Coincidence???
