The 3rd annual Cobre Hike was completed today by 5 fit and enthusiastic hikers. We went CCW so we arrived at the Blue Sky Mine in the morning. The tunnel was still full of the detritus of a years ago occupation by a hermit of some sort. Some recent visitor had kindly left 3 flashlights on a table with batteries in them. Good thing since one of our hikers admitted that she was afraid of the dark. A video was recorded which may become a new "Blair Witch Project". The leader missed the 2nd beach so we lunched at a nice rocky area also on Tenfish Lake. One of our members discovered that cheap plastic containers do not prevent beans and weenies from spilling in a perfectly good knapsack. The climb up to Mt. Belvedere had the last holdouts shedding layers but the view was outstanding and we cooled down. We completed the hike in 6 hr 5 min with a 30 min lunch and 10 min mine tunnel tour. A great effort by all of us.
