A group of lucky thirteen hiked to the Rainbow Lookout. The day was frosty, but we soon warmed up during the uphill climb and enjoyed fine views from the ridge. After stopping for a snack break, we descended to Ryan Lake and continued along the shore to complete the loop. The trail was mostly in good shape with only a few larger blowdowns to negotiate. In a couple of spots nature had rearranged the trail markers, leaving some work for our diligent maintenance crew! We progressed at a good pace and returned to our cars in just under 2 hours.
