12 hikers made the shorter, but always pretty, hike to Rye Lake. We experienced a bit of rain while still at the bank’s parking lot, but it looked like clearer skies towards the north…for a little while at least. We experienced some rain, snow and sleet on the trail, with the sun peeking out at times to warm us up. We were surprised to see waves on Rye, (even some white caps), and the cold wind kept some hikers sheltered among the trees during our break. Winter is coming! A nice hike for a Monday morning, followed by welcomed hot tea and coffee at McD’s.
