We were a lively group of hikers that left for a leisurely hike to Spur Lake and back. We set out from the Esten boat launch and we chatted and went around the large frozen puddles, some the size of small lakes. Some enterprising person has used old pallets to make bridges around the largest of the puddles, it was very much appreciated. It was not cold walking on the trail in the bush, with the sun out and a pretty blue sky. we stopped often and had a nice break at the lake which is not frozen even at the edges!! Fourteen left in the sunshine and fourteen came back…thanks to Ann for being my sweep.
