The morning was bright and sunny as 11 hikers set off to explore the shores of Porridge Lake. It felt deceptively warm out in the sun, but we were quickly disillusioned when the breeze picked up. Most of us donned snowshoes as there was quite a bit snow in the open areas. Snow balls on the trees made the scenery appear very Christmas like. There was a lot of cheerful chatter along the way and everyone enjoyed being out in nature on such a beautiful day. Despite some slipping and sliding on the rocky sections, we kept up a good pace and made it back to our cars just before noon.
