Our Coureurs de Bois Outdoors Club has been invited to participate in the Mental Health Event to be held on May 4, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Collins Hall. Many organizations have also been invited to have displays representing their organizations.
The number of people suffering from some form of mental illness has been rapidly increasing, especially since Covid, and it is a well-established fact by the medical community that exercise, particularly hiking in the bush, is especially therapeutic for the mind. This event allows us to showcase our C de B Club, but it also offers an avenue for people wanting to improve their mental health by hiking with a supportive group of hikers in a safe environment.
In order to participate in this event, we will require a number of volunteers to “man” our table. We are hoping to have shifts of 2 to 2.5 hours each, and enough volunteers to have 2 people for each shift. If you are interested, please contact Louise at 1385lauzon@gmail.com by April 28th.
If you have not been physically able to hike, perhaps this would be an ideal opportunity to volunteer your time to the C de B, and it would be greatly appreciated!
