Seven willing participants departed ... five of them having never experienced the Bolger Mt. challenge ... and they all returned feeling pretty satisfied about having conquered it! The initial long, steep approach to Bolger Lake itself failed to deter any of them so it was a happy and hardy group that pushed on towards the summit! Remaining hints of trail flags were refreshed and new markers set out to better define the route & to reroute around a few minor detours as we found our way upwards through thick and thin ... and blueberry bushes loaded with big fruit! A lovely interim view across the valley held us with a promise of more spectacular views from the top and we were not disappointed! An amazing feeling of accomplishment grew as we looked down upon the tiny speck of a boat that marked the shore we had come from. After a leisurely break, and some Gaia tutoring from Keith, we made our way back along the well marked trail to our starting point on the lake below where, once again, we marveled at the heights we had reached. More than one hiker commented on the perfect pace, a good challenge, and great teamwork that made this a fantastic outing!
