Thirteen hikers came out prepared to enjoy a lovely hike in the woods. We were not disappointed as the trail is in great shape, although some hikers were puffing at some of the incline of the hike to the top. Once we arrived at the fire tower we were treated to a look at the longest painted rock snake we have ever seen. If you are so inclined, paint a small rock and take a drive or walk up and add it to the tail end of the snake. We hiked down the VTA trail to the ATV trail and out to the cars. Everyone agreed it was a great hike and long enough for most.
