On a cool and chilly late fall morning 13 adventurous souls led by the always knowledgeable Jean Guy embarked on an 8.2 km trek to the Lacnor and Dumbbell Lake area. The trail unfolded as a diverse landscape of rock ridges, birch forests and plains, many noticed the early pond ice forming here and there indicating the approach of winter. The mornings chill soon evaporated as the sun finally emerged from the clouds, Jean Guy's guidance and knowledge enhanced our appreciation for the area and upon reaching Dumbbell lake we all enjoyed a well-deserved break. The return journey unfolded under the warm sun as we made our way back to our vehicles. Todays hike showcased the dynamic beauty of late fall landscapes transitioning into the early signs of winter.
