Jean Guy led the first hike of 24 from Rona into the woods and ATV trail up to Westnor lake. We picked the sunny side of the lake and followed the TCT around the west side to the end of the lake.
We returned on the east side (route 66).
There was a lot of debris and fallen trees on this trail as we haven't cleaned it for a few years. I hadn't hiked it in a couple of years even though it is in town.
Still no snow to speak of and the -12 weather had the ice patches solid. They were making snow at the ski hill as we went by.
We found a sunny spot with a convenient bank and rocks for seats and basked in the apricity for snack.
Coming back always seems quicker and coffee was good after the cool weather.
Good to start the year off right with a good 6+km hike.
