Five of us showed up today for a TBA.
TBA hikes are like "" a box of chocolates. You never know what you are going to get."
We headed to Burley Park . We watched a few plays in a softball game. One of our hikers was invited to join the game. She declined but, told them another time, maybe!
We followed a well used path behind Our Lady of Lourdes School and some apartment buildings and crossed a huge puddle on the west side of a wetland.
We saw the pathway that many skidoos had made through that wetland over many years.
We followed ELATV 2 to the shore of Jake's Lake. We had a brief snack stop at the skidoo entrance to that lake.
We returned by the same trail.
All along we saw evidence of late summer . There were white asters, chicory, mallow, tansy flowers, goldenrod, and brown curly dochs. There were berries on solomon's seal, and on red osier dogwood. We even saw a plant called toad flax!
We popped a few touch me not seed pods on our journey, too.
None stop excitement and thrills.
Two of us picked up evidence of homo sapiens stupidius . Some of that evidence will be brought to the Beer Store for refund. The rest is recyclable or "garbagable".
A decent summer day with a good group !!
No photos were taken. A plan has been made to make loop trail to Jake's Lake. It will be explored at a later date by several members of today's group.
