Robert Bateman would have been inspired by the winter wonderland this morning.
Fifteen of us set out from Spine Beach heading west along the Bob Stirling Bike and Cross Country Ski Trail.
We kept our pace reasonable and stopped for frequent breaks. The trail was slippery due to newly fallen snow covering rocks, roots and ruts along the 5.5 km distance we covered. Safety first.
Fox and squirrel tracks were visible in the snow. Huge burls were on some yellow birch and hemlock trees.
Good conversation and good company made for an enjoyable lunch time in a warming hut.
