Maps, Compasses and Free Beer:
Today, 3 students and one teacher with the subject of "Land Navigation". We departed the town and had 3 "stands" where we learned and practised our map & compass techniques. At the the Slipper Lake look-out stand we took bearings of some hills. West of there, we put our orienteering hats on and "walked the triangle". No one got lost and no animals were seen or harmed. Political talk during the lunch break. On the return, much trash was picked up (making up for a quiet Earth Day?) and among the beer cans, 2 full beers!
