Eight Great Hikers showed up for our trek through the main trails off Denison Mine Mine Rd.
We took a good look at each other before donning our bug nets. Then we became mysterious marauders of the Mighty Serpent River.
Once we were assembled at the bird feeders and had checked out a camper trailer we headed through trails lined with bunch berries, star flowers, Pink Lady's Slipper, and many varieties of ferns. Spruce and balsam were sprouting new bright green twigs.
We arrived at the first set of Rapids to view the Serpent River. This is our usual lunch spot in winter.
Saplings have grown so thick and fast that we could hear the Serpent River but, were unable to see it!
This prompted us to head further south on the trail to the dam.
A short snack break on the rocks re-energized us and we trekked back up the hill to the cars parked at the boulders.
Pleasant weather with cool breezes kept the bugs at bay.
Thanks to all for the erudite exchange of ideas and opinions during our hike.
Also thanks to Dianne and Shirley who shared Sweep duties.
